A well-deserved telling off

Okay readers
I have been thrown into action by reader reprimand.  And justifiably so too because I have been completely and utterly mind-blowingingly slack.  I have actually been wanting to post this poem I was sent recently and now I will.  It is by a man called Alfred Joyce Kilmer who I think I have fallen a tiny bit in love with.  He died in WW1 and I can't stop thinking about what a waste of a sensitive man. I know it's just a simple poem, but to me it's beautiful.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

The other photos I've been wanting to share are those taken by my mum on her recent outback camping adventure.  She is 72 and became overcome with a desire to head west in a rented campervan and four weeks later she was back, vowing not to do it in spring again (due to the cold).

Speaking of the "wild west", Spud and I have gone a bit crazy for an outrageous Western series recently shown on telly.  It's called "Deadwood" and OhMyGosh!  I don't really know WHAT to make of it.  It's horrible and funny at the same time.  WARNING!!  Do not watch this if you don't like swearing!!! I'm sorry, I know it's terrible but I can't stop laughing!
I will write again soon, I PROMISE, but now it's time to do Things Around The House - yawn...
