Yippee!

Hi Happy Readers... well, I did my first ever fun run today and it was just that - lots of F.U.N! I ran my best time ever too which was a bonus. I did my 4.5kms in 25.07 minutes, which works out at about 10.5km/hr. To think that only about four months ago, I was thumping that treadmill, getting excited about having run two minutes straight! Unfortunately, Steve missed seeing me cross the line :o( He dropped me off at the start, drove back through all the traffic to the finish line, found a spot to park the car, walked 15 mins to the park where the finish line was, stood at the finish line & then didn't see me!!! Next year I will have to wear something more colourful obviously. The only bummer was trying to get away at the end of the race. There was only one road out & it was a traffic jam for about an hour. Needless to say, Steve was a bit razzed by the time we got out of there! Of course, we didn't get a pic of me crossing the line but hopefully, the "official" photographer will have gotten one & I know I will have to pay the bucks to get a copy but I just HAVE to! It's my first event.... Next on the agenda? The Women's 10km Classic on 9 September in the Botanic Gardens. I am training hard & feel buoyed by my speed today though am unsure that I could sustain that speed for an entire hour. Pssst! We saw the movie "Amazing Grace" today with Ion Griuffud as Sir William Wilberforce. It was a great period drama about Wilberforce's work to abolish slavery in the UK during the 18th Century. Really, really interesting & of course, who can ever tire of that lovely Welshman? Cannot work out how to upload a pic of him to put on this blog to make it more interesting to look at. Stuff that... Refer to previous post regarding techno abilities.

Or if you type in Ioan Gruffudd you might come up with some better images
